24/01/2005 : 80 countries have already announced that they will be sending a team to the 33rd IAAF World cross-country Championships. A few more are likely to join them in the next few days. Therefore there will probably be more than 1000 athletes who will be running around the course at the Saint Galmier Hippodrome.

23/01/2005 : There will be a warm up event for the Championships on February 13th, 2005 in the shape of the French National cross-country semi finals (Central Eastern Division). This will give the organizers the opportunity to test the course and also to bring together the 550 volunteers workers and 50 officials who will be running the event on March 19th and 20th.

22/01/2005 : Tickets are already on sale. Tickets can be purchased in writing to the Loire Athletics Committee. Tickets will also be available at all the Sales locaters of the Ticketnet retailers. A ticket office desk will also be open on February 13th at Saint Galmier and on February 27th during the French National cross-country Championships.

19/01/2005 : A tramway in championship colours: The society of public transportation of the Stephanoise region will enter into the spirit of the cross-country event by decorating one of their tramways lines in the championship colours for the week preceding the event.

12/01/2005 : During the opening ceremony (Saturday 2pm) there will be a procession of at least 600 school children from the primary schools of St. Galmier. Each class will represent one of the participating delegations that they have studied as a school project. This procession will represent the conclusion of their project.
