The city of Annecy is proud and happy to host the 2002 SPAR European Cup.
The honour and confidence given to our town by the French Federation and the European Athletic Association underline the importance of the world of sport in Annecy.
The SPAR European Cup, being a top-level sports event, I am delighted that our town can invite its citizens to such a high quality and renowned gathering.

I would particularly like to thank Rhone-Alps Regional Authority and also our Haute Savoie local Council for their participation alongside Annecy together with their never-flinching support.
An encouraging number of Annecy people have already shown great enthusiasm to involve themselves, on a voluntary basis, in the organization of the SPAR European Cup. This, in itself, is a vast encouragement to the

Organizing Committee and, by the same token, a winning combination.
Nothing has been left out to make sure the event goes off without a hitch and I am therefore convinced of a massive turn-out by my fellow citizens.
